Macrolide-resistant Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MRMP) has become a growing challenge in pediatric respiratory care across Asia, with resistance rates exceeding 80% in some regions. While doxycycline is increasingly used as an alternative, high-quality evidence from randomized controlled trials comparing doxycycline to macrolides in children remains lacking.
DOMINO is the first multicenter RCT designed to evaluate whether doxycycline is superior to azithromycin in achieving early defervescence in children with MRMP pneumonia.
